No Room in the Inn

Our final outreach of the year was at the Spanish Campus in St. Amant.  The church site that we normally go to was all booked up and there was no room for us.  I pondered this as we were moved to a location in the back of shopping center next to the church.  The Saturday before Christmas.  A celebration of the birth of our Savior.

I knew our Lord was up to something.  A sort of exclamation point to a year that had many ups and downs for us.  Yet, our God is still in control and he wanted to let us know with an out of the ordinary outreach.  So many lives were touched this day.  But there is one story of a Spanish lady that came into the clinic for the first time...

As this lady entered Ele, the medical clinic, she began to weep and was overcome by the presence of God.  She could not express how she was feeling but knew something was different in the air.  As she was escorted to the back exam room, one of our interpreters, Sheila began to speak with her.  Doctor Cheri was preparing to go into see her and requested that we have someone from the Spanish campus church come in to speak with her.  Before anyone could get there Sheila was leading this lady to the Lord as she confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior inviting Him into her heart.  Praise God!

Miracles still happen out back just as the miracle of a savior being born over 2000 years ago for all mankind...behind an inn.

All for His Glory,

A Healing Prayer

I recently got word that a friend of mine and brother in Christ is in the hospital in New York recovering from open heart surgery.  His name is Phil Downer, President and founder of Discipleship Network America.   A very humble man that I met 4 years ago outside of Washington, D.C.  He is recovering well and we are praying for God's grace and peace to be upon him and his family as he makes a full and complete recovery for the glory of God.

Let it Sneaux, Let it Sneaux, Let it Sneaux

We have felt in our spirit that our Lord was leading us into a new season just as there are seasons of the planet.  Ecclesiastes 3:1 - There is a time for everything , and a season for every activity under heaven.

We have found it to be true that change can be a powerful force in the life of a believer if we choose to embrace it rather than fight the tides of life.  The LeBlanc's have found themselves in a tidal wave of change in 2008.  My Dad lost his battle with cancer on May 28, 2008.  Dr. Cheri's Dad died on September 21, 2008.

Cheri's Dad died as suddenly as the snow that rained down on Baton Rouge this morning.  But, it was in the watching of the snow that I felt God was telling us all that He can cover the landscape of suffering and pain in our lives with a new blanket of white righteousness.  A righteousness that can only come from His one and only Son, Jesus Christ.

Mo and Ele were covered in snow this morning.  A reminder to me that what Healing Hands is all about is reaching and touching the pain in people's lives for the Glory of the One who changes the seasons.  Enjoy the life God has given you by sharing it with someone!

Because He Lives,
