Are you salty enough?
Hi everybody,We had a great January with 88 patients being seen in 3 clinics - praise God!
I shared a thought with our volunteers at our meeting this past Sunday that God had layed on my heart. Matthew 15:13 says we are the salt of the earth. Just like seasoning food, if you have the right amount of salt the food taste good and you want more. If there is not enough salt it is not appealing, and if there is too much salt it tastes bad and you don't want even another bite.
Salt makes you thirsty. Are we the salt of the earth to make people thirsty for the Living Water that is Jesus? If we never tell people about Jesus then we are like bland food that is not appealing to others, they don't thirst. We are too salty if we come on too strong, and then they want nothing to do with us. The thought is that we must be just salty enough so they want what we have, which is Jesus.
Let me share one story from a recent clinic that illustrates this point. One of our regular patients brought her husband to the clinic for the first time. She had been trying to get him to go to church, but he wouldn't make that final effort on Sunday to go, so she would go alone. After he had been through the clinic and been loved on and felt welcomed, he told his wife something that brought tears to my eyes. He said, "There's something about these people that makes them different that I just can't put my finger on. I want to see what kind of church they go to."
That day we were just salty enough. Lord, let us always be so full of You that people notice what is inside of us, instead of just us.

I'm trying to see what size plane I need to get the mobile clinic over here. I was thinking of a boat too though. Might take a while but that will give us enough time to plan the trip. hahahah Great to here from you. Thank you so much for your prayers and thank you for being salty to us because you are truly a blessing in our lives.
